Audio industry and technology pioneer Dr. Christian Heil introduced Wave Sculpture Technology, the scientific foundation of the modern line array, the sound system used for concerts and live events. Since founding L-Acoustics in 1984, Heil’s quest for “truth in sound” has never subsided. “I’m one of those people who believe using a left and right configuration is a mistake and has always been a mistake for live concerts,” Heil says of stereo. “I did not understand the concept. I just admitted it was practical, but life, nature, vocals are not stereo.”
This disconnect between sight and sound led to the development of L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound, an immersive experience technology that goes beyond the notion of immersive audio to restitute sound that is ultra-realistic and bigger than life. In a word: hyperreal.
In this short video, Dr. Christian Heil explains why immersive audio is not enough.
